Cookie notice

Version 2 · effective from 9 September 2026

A cookie is a small piece of text a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between pages or visits.

We use two kinds. Essential cookies are needed for the site to work. Analytics cookies are optional and are only set if you accept them.

Essential cookies

These are always set. Without them you could not stay signed in, and the site would not remember your settings.

Cookie Purpose Duration
acreed_refresh Keeps you signed in. It holds a sign-in token that only our servers can read; your browser cannot. Up to 30 days, or until you sign out
acreed_theme Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark appearance. Up to one year
acreed_cookie_consent Records your cookie choice, so you are not asked again on every page. Up to six months

Analytics cookies

These are set by Google Analytics and only if you accept them. We use them to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they read. If you decline, they are never set.

Cookie Purpose Duration
_ga Distinguishes one browser from another, so a person who reads three pages is counted once rather than three times. About two years (Google's default)
_ga_ followed by our property ID Keeps track of a single visit, for the same purpose. Google names this one after the analytics property it belongs to, so in your browser you will see the _ga_ prefix and then a short code. About two years (Google's default)

What is sent to Google is the address of the page you are on, together with the general information your browser gives every website, such as device type and country. Google processes it under Google's privacy policy.

Some pages never send anything to Google, whatever you have chosen, because the web address itself is private — invitation links, verification links, certificate links and unsubscribe links. Analytics is not loaded on those pages at all.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your information.

Cookies set by others

When you connect a bank account (Mono) or make a payment (Paystack), their windows may set their own cookies under their own notices. Those are theirs, not ours.

Your choices

You are asked once, on your first visit, and your answer is remembered for six months.

You can change it at any time using the settings below this notice. Turning analytics cookies off takes effect on the next page you open; cookies Google has already set remain in your browser until you clear them there.

You can also delete cookies in your browser at any time. Deleting acreed_refresh signs you out, and deleting acreed_cookie_consent means you will be asked again.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your settings. With your permission we would also set analytics cookies, which help us understand how the site is used.

What these cookies do
Essential always on
Keep you signed in, remember whether you chose light or dark, and remember this choice so you are not asked again.
Analytics only if you accept
Google Analytics, so we can see how many people visit and which pages they read. Never loaded on pages whose web address is private, such as an invitation or verification link.
