How Acreed works for funders

Acreedify checks a business before you lend. AcreedPulse watches the loan after you pay it out. This is how the two fit together.

Two products, one record

Acreedify works before funding. A business proves who it is: the directors’ identity, its company registration, its credit history, its tax record and its bank account. Acreed turns that evidence into an Acreed Credibility Score out of 100, in one of five bands. Businesses in the top two bands earn a certificate anyone can check.

AcreedPulse works after funding. With the business’s consent, it reads the business’s bank account, tracks repayments against the schedule, measures the covenants you set and gives every loan a green, amber or red health colour. It raises an alert when something needs your attention.

  • Developing50–69
  • Emerging35–49
  • Early Stage0–34
The Acreed Credibility Score runs from 0 to 100. The same five bands apply to every business and every funder.

The bands are the same for every funder. Your own criteria form never moves a business’s band. It produces a separate fit, which says how well the business suits your programme.

The journey, start to finish

  1. Create your account and verify your organisation.
  2. Build a criteria form: the extra questions you need and how you weight each part of the score.
  3. Find verified businesses in the Directory and invite them to apply.
  4. Review each application. It arrives already scored, with every check’s result.
  5. Approve with terms, decline or ask for more information.
  6. When you pay out the loan, mark it as funded. Monitoring starts once the business consents.
  7. Watch the loan from your Funded Portfolio. Confirm repayments, follow alerts, and close it when it is repaid.

Money never moves through Acreed

Acreed does not lend, hold or move money. You pay out the loan and collect repayments through your own bank, as you do today. Acreed records the terms, builds the repayment schedule, and checks the business’s bank feed to see what actually happened.
