Set up and verify your organisation

Create your funder account, then, when asked, prove your organisation is real. Businesses are verified on Acreed, and funders can be too.

Create your account

  1. Go to the sign-up page and fill in Full name, Organisation and Email. Press Continue.
  2. Under How will you use it?, choose Funder. Tick the consent box and press Create my account.
  3. Enter the six-digit code we email you and press Verify & continue.
  4. Name your institution, pick a dark or light look, and choose whether to hear from us.
  5. Press Enter funder dashboard. A short tour shows you around.

Verify your organisation

When your organisation needs verifying, your dashboard shows Verify your institution to get started and a Verification tab appears in Settings. Only an administrator can submit it.

  1. Open Settings, then Verification.
  2. Enter the Registered legal name exactly as it appears on your CAC record, and your RC number.
  3. If you hold a licence (from the CBN, the SEC, a state, or as a cooperative), choose it and add the licence number. If not, choose No licence / not applicable.
  4. Press Submit for verification. We check the RC number against the CAC registry straight away.
  5. Under Who is submitting, give your full name, your NIN or BVN, a photo of a government ID and a selfie.
  6. Say whether you are a registered director of the company, or an authorised representative. A representative attaches a letter of authority from a director.
  7. Press Verify me. Acreed’s team then reviews the request and emails you the decision.

If we cannot verify you, the reason appears on the same page. Press Resubmit for verification to send it again (the dashboard’s Fix and resubmit brings you there).

Tell businesses what you fund

Under Settings, then What you fund, set the sectors you finance and the minimum score you consider. The Directory shows you only the businesses that match. Switch on Show your terms to businesses if you want a business you invite to see your rates, facility size and decision time on the invitation. Leave it off and it sees only your name. Only an administrator can save these.

Notifications

The Notifications tab in Settings controls application and offer notices, monitoring alerts in the bell, and alert emails with a Minimum severity. Changes apply straight away, to everyone in your organisation, and only an administrator can make them.

Questions

Do you keep my NIN, BVN and photos?

No. The numbers and photos you give in the “who is submitting” step are used for the checks and not kept. Only the results are stored.

Can a portfolio manager submit verification?

No. Only an administrator, who manages the organisation, can submit or resubmit it.

Still need help?

Ask a person.

Send us a message and someone from the team replies by email, usually within one business day. If you are signed in, the assistant in the app can also answer questions about your own account.
