Import the loans you already hold from a spreadsheet. Each business is asked to accept monitoring and connect its bank.

Import your loan book

  1. Open Funded Portfolio and press Import loans.
  2. Download the template and fill in one row per loan.
  3. Upload the file (CSV or Excel). The list is saved as a draft: nothing is created and nobody is emailed yet.
  4. Check every figure on every row. Where the file gives no balance we show a working figure marked assumed; press Edit on a row to correct the balance, the interest method, the rate or any other figure, and the row is checked again.
  5. Press Import N loans and email the borrowers. The loans are created from the figures you checked, not from the file again.
  6. Made a mistake? Undo this import takes everything back — the loans, the invited accounts, the claim links — as long as no borrower on it has claimed an account or agreed to monitoring. After that, close loans one by one.

The columns

business_name, email
Required. Who the loan is with, and where the invitation goes.
principal_ngn, tenure_months
Required. The loan amount in naira and its length in months.
interest_rate_pct
The interest rate as a percentage.
interest_method
How the loan applies interest: flat, reducing_balance or interest_only. Blank means flat. It decides the schedule and what an early settlement costs.
outstanding_principal_ngn, balance_as_of
The principal still owed and the day that figure is good for. The schedule we monitor runs from that day over that balance, so "still owed" is your figure. Leave it blank and the preview shows our working figure, marked assumed, for you to confirm or correct.
remaining_installments
Only needed for a loan already past its original end date, where we cannot tell how many installments are left. The preview flags such rows and will not import them until you say.
repayment_frequency
monthly, quarterly or bullet (one repayment at the end). Monthly if left empty.
disbursed_on
The date you paid it out, written as YYYY-MM-DD.
loan_reference
Your own reference, so the same loan is never imported twice.
Covenant columns
min_cash_balance_ngn, dscr_target, revenue_floor_ngn, leverage_ceiling. Optional.

A file can hold up to 2,000 loans.

What happens to each business

  • New borrower: they get an email with a link to claim the loan, accept monitoring and connect their bank. Reminders go out every three days. If they have not claimed it after two weeks, you are told.
  • Added to their Acreed account: they already use Acreed, so the loan joins their account and they are asked to decide about monitoring. Use Ask again to remind them.
  • You already have this loan: it is skipped.
  • Needs fixing: something in the row is wrong. Correct it and upload again.
  • Not a business account — check the email, This email belongs to more than one business or Failed: that row is not imported. Check the details and try again.

Monitoring, and the credits it uses, start only once the business consents and connects its bank. The loans you import sit in your book.
